GALIVANTS FERRY – The funeral for Curtis Allen Smith, 68, will be held on November 18 at 1 p.m. at the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, presided over by Reverend Mitchell Smith. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr Smith, 68, husband of Jane Rowell, died at his home on November 14.

Born November 9, 1953 in Whiteville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Charles Smith and the late Dora Mae Soles Smith. Curtis proudly served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973 and was a Freemason. He worked as a master pipe fitter.

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, and was “Mr. Mom” ​​for the cheerleader team.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was also predeceased by his son, Mitchell Allen Smith; and her granddaughter, Abigail Smith.

Survivors include his 16-year-old wife, Jane Rowell; his daughters, Nancy Moss, Haley Rowell and Kelly Carlson; her grandchildren, Chandler Smith, Jordan Smith, Briyyany Byrd, Hazel Smith and Katherine Moss; her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Byrd, Jayce Byrd, Emily Byrd and Ashton Byrd; his sisters, Brenda Moore (Donald) and Faye Smith Reaves; and his two beloved furbabies, Ziggy and Gates.

The family will receive the friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
